World delegations flocked to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia capital Riyadh on Saturday to offer their condolences on the passing of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia His Majesty the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Al Arabiya News Channel reported.
Russian Prime Minister Dimitri Medvedev, Britain His Royal Highness Prince Charles, Prime Minister The Rt Hon David Cameron MP, France His Excellency President Francois Hollande and Japan His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia capital and offered their condolences to new His Majesty the King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The White House confirmed on Saturday that the United States of America President Barack Obama will cut short his visit to India to fly to Riyadh on Tuesday.
The Kingdom of Turkey President His Excellency Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan landed in the capital on Friday and took part in the funeral of the late King.
Former the Kingdom of Turkey President His Excellency Associate Professor Dr. Abdullah Gul arrived in Riyadh on Saturday.
Arab leaders who flew to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia capital on Saturday included His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, His Highness Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
State of Kuwait His Highness Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, State of Qatar His Highness Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Sultanate of Oman Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said also travelled to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Kingdom of Morocco delegation headed by the King brother His Royal Highness Prince Rachid arrived in Riyadh on Saturday.
Islamic Republic of Iran has also sent its delegation headed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif.
His Majesty the King Abdullah died in the early hours of Friday and his half-brother His Majesty the King Salman bin Abdulaziz was declared King, according to the Royal Court statement.
His Royal Highness Muqrin bin Abdulaziz was named as His Royal Highness Crown Prince while Interior Minister His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Nayef was declared as the second-in-line to the Throne.
A funeral was held at Imam Turki Grand Mosque in Riyadh followed by a simple burial for the late King.
In the evening the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia citizens flocked to the Governance Palace in Riyadh and pledged their allegiance for the new leaders.
In his first televised address since the passing of His Majesty the King Abdullah on Friday, newly-crowned His Majesty the King Salman bin Abdulaziz called for solidarity and unity among Muslim and Arab nations.
“Our Arab and Islamic nation is in dire need today for its unity and solidarity,” His Majesty the King Salman was quoted by the official Saudi Press Agency as saying.
He also vowed to continue on the same path set by His Majesty the King Abdulaziz bin Saud, the founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia state.
