The fog delayed the departure from Abu Dhabi of 44 early morning flights by up to four hours, while several others were cancelled, the airline said in a statement.
More delays were anticipated for the rest of the day, it said.
Six inbound flights from Colombo, Doha, Kuwait, Dammam, Seychelles and London were diverted to three airports in the United Arab Emirates - Al Ain, Al Bateen and Dubai World Central.
