１主はモーセに言われた。

「あなたは、アロン、ナダブ、アビフ、およびイスラエルの七十人の長老と一緒に主のもとに登りなさい。あなたたちは遠く離れて、ひれ伏さねばならない。２しかし、モーセだけは主に近づくことができる。その他の者は近づいてはならない。民は彼と共に登ることはできない。」

３モーセは戻って、主のすべての言葉とすべての法を民に読み聞かせると、民は皆、声を一つにして答え、「わたしたちは、主が語られた言葉をすべて行ないます。」と言った。４モーセは主の言葉をすべて書き記し、朝早く起きて、山のふもとに祭壇を築き、十二の石の柱をイスラエルの十二部族のために建てた。

Exodus 24

 

24

Then he said to Moses, ‘Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship at a distance. 2Moses alone shall come near the Lord; but the others shall not come near, and the people shall not come up with him.’

3 Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, ‘All the words that the Lord has spoken we will do.’ 4And Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. He rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and set up twelve pillars, corresponding to the twelve tribes of Israel.
