Temperature in Taipei hits high; cooler front approaching
Taipei, June 2 (CNA) The temperature in Taipei climbed to 36.3 degrees Celsius Sunday afternoon, the highest in the city so far this year and on par with the temperature recorded March 18 in Taitung, weather forecasters said.
The Central Weather Bureau said Taipei's 36.3 degrees was the highest temperature recorded in Taiwan during the day, followed by 35.6 degrees in Banciao, 34.5 degrees in Danshui, 33.7 degrees in Taichung and 33.4 degrees in Chiayi.
Forecasters said, however, that a weather front was expected to approach Taiwan Sunday evening, bringing rainfall and possible cooler weather to northern Taiwan with a high of low 30's.
The chances of rain will increase throughout the week and temperatures are likely to drop, they said.
