台湾の李登輝元総統が訪日中止、体調面考慮か／神奈川

 

台湾の李登輝元総統（９０）が５月上旬に予定していた訪日を取りやめたことが４月３０日、分かった。

 

関係者によると、高齢のため体調面を考慮したという。

 

李元総統は、座間、大和両市などにあった旧日本海軍の航空機工場「高座海軍工廠（こうしょう）」で働いていた台湾の元少年工らの来日に合わせ、４年ぶりの訪日を計画。座間市で９日に開かれる元少年工らの歓迎大会にも出席する予定だった。

 

歓迎大会実行委員会の石川公弘委員長（７８）によると、元総統は健康だが、医師に「高齢で長旅はできない」と診断されたという。

 

２９日に李元総統の秘書から訪日断念の連絡があった。

 

石川さんは「とても残念。歓迎大会を予定通り開催し、日台友好を願う元総統の思いに応えたい」と話した。
