Bayern München ist auf dem Weg zur historischen Triple-Verteidigung krachend gescheitert.

Der Titelträger unterlag dem in allen Belangen überlegenen spanischen Rekordmeister Real Madrid im Halbfinal-Rückspiel der Champions League 0:4 (0:3).

Für die Bayern bedeutete dies die höchste Heimpleite in ihrer 48-jährigen Europapokal-Geschichte.

The dream

Bayern Munich failed with a crash on the way to the historic triple-defense.

The champions defeated the superior in all respects Spanish giants Real Madrid in the semi-final of the Champions League 0:4 (0:3).

For the Bavarians, this meant the biggest home defeat in their 48-years European history.
