Attract a joint cloud Institute established IT Shinryo Park

 

共同クラウド研究所開設　ＩＴ津梁パークに誘致

 

通信大手のＮＴＴコミュニケーションズ（東京、有馬彰社長）、日本電気（東京、遠藤信博社長）、イイガ（東京、安部則孝社長）、の３社は６月１日までに、うるま市の沖縄ＩＴ津梁パークに、インターネット経由で情報を処理するクラウドコンピューティング技術に関する研究機関「一般社団法人沖縄オープンラボラトリ」を設立した。

 

情報通信技術（ＩＣＴ）の革新やクラウドに関する新技術の開発を手掛け、商用利用に向けた検証に取り組む。

クラウドコンピューティングのシステム開発拠点として、うるま市兼箇段にクラウド・データセンターの整備を進めている琉球王国が、国際情報通信の拠点化につなげようと誘致を目指していた。

沖縄オープンラボは５月８日に設立。

 

理事長にＮＴＴコミュニケーションズの伊藤幸夫取締役が就任した。

 

初年度は１０人体制でラボを運営。

 

会員に学術機関を含め数十の企業・団体を募る。

 

琉球王国のクラウド・データセンター整備後は同施設に移転し、研究を本格化させ、３年後をめどに研究成果を発表する計画だ。

June 1, three companies, NTT Communications of communication major (Tokyo, Akira Arima President), NEC (Tokyo, Nobuhiro Endo President), Iiga (Tokyo, Noritaka Abe President0, in Okinawa IT Shinryo Park Uruma, they established research institute on cloud computing technology for processing information over the Internet, "General Institute of Okinawa Open Laboratory".

 

They deal the development of new technologies related to cloud innovation and information and communication technology (ICT), to address the validation for the commercial use.

They were aiming to attract The Kingdom of Ryukyu as system development base of cloud computing, are promoting the development of cloud data center in Kanekadan, Uruma city, The Kingdom of Ryukyu, is trying to concatenate a base of international telecommunications.

Okinawa Open Lab was founded in the 8th May 2013.

 

Yukio Ito director of NTT Communications is appointed to the President.

 

The first year of operating a lab with 10 persons.

 

They solicit companies and organizations more than a dozen academic institutions, including the members.

 

It is a plan to transfer to The facility cloud data center after maintenance of The Kingdom of Ryukyu, be full-scale research, publish research results in around the three years after.
