Australia – Wind Farm Development

Australia – Wind Farm Development

State’s largest wind farm development is moving forward

A $1.3billion AUD renewable energy project will produce the state’s largest wind farm.

The project will involve 36 local landowners hosting 199 turbines over four zones, covering an area of about 180 sq km.

Access roads and other associated infrastructure to support the wind farm will be built, including access tracks and electrical connections via underground cables.

There will be a HVDC cable connection to the state’s capital, including about 60 km of marine cable and 14km of terrestrial cable linking the wind farm to the city’s power grid.

Converter stations and operations buildings will also be built.

Underground transmission connection will be constructed from the converter station to a nearby copper-gold project and to a nearby substation.

A host of tender opportunities surrounding the project are expected in the near future.
